A couple of minutes passed and I was able to follow her… she had joined another conversation. @111error had joined me at this point and we both saw Sabrina seemed slightly concerned that we had noticed her odd behavior. She laughed it off as a headache she has been dealing with and insisted she was fine… and moved away.
@Russell There were lot…[Read more]

@russell I realized that my question sounded kinda accusatory, that wasn’t my intent whatsoever. Just didn’t know if Biloxi had any significance to prior conversations during Tension since it seems that Lust may be a direct continuation.
And same. Super bummed we missed the chair photo op 🙁

@russell I was unable to get a photo sitting at the chair too! 😭

@russell – do you think it’s a coincidence that you were the last person Darren talked to before shit hit the fan last night.. and he’s now extremely close to a city you have a connection to?

@russell one would think Noah would have an okay cellphone–dude has a nice ass watch at least. 😉

@russell It was a little hard to hear in the venue, so I’m hesitant to say either way with certainty. BUT my first thought in both cases was that the first call sounded like it could be Michelle, and the second like DLB himself. That second one is funny if we’re talking about seeing behind the curtain; not so funny when the argument about the two…[Read more]

Advice to First Timers:
#1 Bears don’t have long tails (unless you’re a red panda), but also bears aren’t actually bright pink in color. Tread lightly when labeling inanimate objects. Hearts are delicate! ( @russell )
There’s no #2.
I resemble this comment @thegilded :
speak with a leader of a rogue anti-OOA group daily and influence his…

@russell @thegilded @mike @mkarrett @addisonborn You all make very strong points.
Being new to immersive and ARG, when/if does one decide to be one’s self or create a persona that game ‘me’ would do things ‘out of character’ of real me?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I equate immersive events being similar to murder mystery dinner theater, where…[Read more]

do not engage or force a scene on someone who clearly has not been given the option to “opt out”
Unless it’s a telemarketer calling your private cell, though, right?! @thegilded & @russell
It can feel like sweet, sweet revenge when you pick up for a telemarketer and turn the tables on them when all they wanted to do was sell you a tim…[Read more]

In regards to immersion (and also slightly touching on the “how far is too far” question), on one of the episodes on their My Haunt Life podcast, @mike and @russell address this: when an actress’s real name was revealed within the context of the game as part of the story, some folks decided to seek her out IRL, and/or tried to find out more about…[Read more]

okay okay so I dodged the question.
I don’t know where my 4th wall is. I know that Tension was my first “haunt” because @mike and @russell offered a really perfect review of a story-driven experience that offered emotional rewards. I had no interest in being waterboarded, forced to roll around on used condoms, or whatever. But their description…[Read more]

In a way, I’m a bit jealous that you two can have your experiences heightened by physicality, @russell and @michelle. I, however, am a bit different in that regard. I share your love for the mental and emotional impact that immersive can have that traditional media cannot, and the fact that Tension got into my head the way that it did is the…[Read more]

Not many people have touched on physical boundaries in this thread, which I believe is part of my personal 4th wall. Physical engagement enhances certain immersive experiences for me.
Yes, @russell… I couldn’t agree with you more on this. Both Heretic and Blackout have taught me my physical boundaries, no matter how uncomfortable I may…[Read more]

*I’m sorry this turns into rambling about personal self shit* Thank you @sbkevin for this topic. This is actually something I have been talking to people about for the past few days. What a coincidence. @jayfurby and I were listening to an old episode of MHL and we also watched the Blackout experiments starring @russell. I envy you Russell (and…[Read more]

Sorry if this is a bit long. I love ARG’s. I love the immersion, the what ifs, the interaction, the escape from the boring mundane world. I love that a good storyline can effortlessly blend into that boring mundane world and make it seem extraordinary. It gives that spark, that glitch, that what if, and the more you can make me think its real the…[Read more]
