@mike Did Otis suggest the restaurant? Had he been there before? Did he say anything about it being a favorite restaurant?

Apparently Horace is a teddy bear compared to Noah’s mother. God, are we going to run into her at the MSE?

@meghanmayhem Who ever said it does either of those things? And really, you’re bringing up something from five months ago?

I’m struggling to see how us wearing masquerade masks is going to help TMC get to the bottom of OSDM fuckery.

I think most people feel that way. And thank you for correcting yourself so I wouldn’t have to. 🙂

I’m personally not quite ready to believe that the System vs. OSDM narrative is as straightforward as we’ve been told.
No, neither am I. I don’t really believe anything, which is both exciting and scary, because it leaves me with nothing to expect and no way to know when it’s time to start believing.

You’ll be fine. I’m wearing about the same. They never specified a suit, just “dress to impress,” and shirt and tie definitely falls under that category.

I was trying to find a pattern among those who haven’t received the “ground rules” e-mail, but there isn’t one. I’m just going to chalk it up to a clerical oversight, because I can’t think of any other explanation. I mean, why would they NOT want certain people to know the basic rules and etiquette?

But Mason checking in with you at this point makes me wonder if you’re part of something very, very special he has planned.
Oh, I think there’s very little doubt about that. But, again, this brings up the whole OSDM/System dichotomy. The System supposedly opposes the OSDM and yet evidently is heavily involved in their event. Makes me wonder. D…[Read more]

It sounds like the latter to me. He didn’t say to say it to anyone who participates in Lust, just to anyone who asks about it.

It seems to me that Bryan is the only one who’s ever been threatened with blackmail. I doubt it’s something that everyone needs to worry about, or even, for many of us, something that would be effective (it certainly wouldn’t work on me, since I have no life to destroy and zero fucks to give about what people know about me). Clearly, somebody is…[Read more]

I assume he meant “wary,” but I kind of like it better as “weary.” It adds a melancholy sort of philosophy to the whole thing.

@larry Of course he doesn’t care. And I don’t care that he doesn’t care. My annoyance has more to do with the arrogance behind the assumption that we don’t already ask ourselves these questions, that we need him, this man who couldn’t give a shit, to tell us to do so.
I’m definitely not cheating myself.

I learned nothing about myself that I didn’t already know. But don’t worry about it, @maddyxxx. I just know myself really, really well.
I feel nothing but lost and confused as to what my path is through this, and maybe a little annoyed at being asked how I feel and what I learned, as if you care. As if it matters or is relevant to you. And…[Read more]

I’ve been thinking about this (and forgive me if I discuss ideas that have already been covered; I’m sort of formulating my thoughts as I go). It’s always been a general assumption that everything is OSDM: every action, every fabrication, everything that may or may not be a fabrication, the OSDM is behind somehow. But what if the OSDM is not the…[Read more]

So, Noah has been using The System to prepare us for the MSE. Okay, fine (I don’t think it’s working for me, but whatever). But here’s the thing: most of the people attending Anointment don’t follow the forums and aren’t going through this process. What about them? Are they just sacrificial lambs? If his motives are altruistic, it seems to defeat…[Read more]

Once again, I’m in agreement with Bryan. I hate to say it, because by doing so I’m either repudiating Erika’s pain or calling her a bad actress, but the whole thing felt staged to me. With Mason not being Mason (I’m not writing that fan-fiction-y name with the exclamation mark) and Russell insisting that Briarberg is a lie, I’m inclined to take t…[Read more]
