“The OSDM proudly presents…” I don’t think this is going to work that way.

@mike That’s a good question. That number seems high, but I could be wrong.

@coryphella That’s a very real concern of mine as well.

@shankfx22 I don’t think we get to get out of this one. If anything, trying to get out of it is more predictable than anything. They know how much we hate consequences. The only way out is through. A choice will be made. I’m pretty sure there’s no third option here.

@bruinbown That’s a really good question.

Stephanie had a role to play and fucked it up? Wait, is Stephanie still working with the OSDM? We saw her with Briarberg at that meeting. Either way, why is she leaving with Morgan?

Whoa. I asked Mason how big the OSDM was. He said, “That’s something leadership has been quiet about. It’s big enough that you can’t sleep, you can’t breathe, you can’t go anywhere.” I did not understand that answer until just now. This visual is frightening.

I keep reading this quote over and over. The part that is getting to me the most is the distinction between being “bought” and being “baited”. There’s something so sinister in feeling drawn, lured, manipulated, and of giving a gloss of good to fool a person into taking a bite.

@bcbishop I know, right.

Here’s the whole quote: “Every man has his price.” This is not true. But for every man there exists a bait which he cannot resist swallowing. To win over certain people to something, it is only necessary to give it a gloss of love of humanity, nobility, gentleness, self-sacrifice – and there is nothing you cannot get them to swallow. To their sou…[Read more]

@kortneydarling From a legal perspective, aka what can and cannot get you charged as “responsible” in front of a judge, if you are NOT an employee of the train or railway, doing nothing makes it unlikely that you would would be charged. Pulling the lever is a manslaughter charge, if not murder. The defense of pulling the lever comes down to…[Read more]

I voted. Admittedly, I didn’t vote for the “winning” vote, but I participated. I wish I hadn’t. I’m sure there were other consequences for abstaining, but this is as much on my shoulders for participating as anyone’s. The truth is that none of us knew what would happen, what the full consequences of our actions would be. Two people, however,…[Read more]

I love the description of this painting. I don’t even want to look at the painting, and just read this over and over again. Thanks for finding that, @kortneydarling!
“Hope” as we know it is a construct; an act of sheer will.

@addisonborn, this just made me snort.
@blondie, that’s a good point. But we all know what happens when the unpopular opinion is presented. It can definitely be intimidating. I don’t blame anyone for not wanting to step into that hornet’s nest.
No matter what happens next, some people will be elated, some will be upset, and…[Read more]

The history of MyChild alone is enough to make me wonder. We have a system that was hacked and taken over, but what if it wasn’t completely, or at all. MyChild still smells like complete fish to me. I just don’t buy it.

The quote was said in response to the Gettysburg address. Here’s the whole thing: “That speech, uttered at the field of Gettysburg… and now sanctified by the martyrdom of its author, is a monumental act. In the modesty of his nature he said ‘the world will little note, nor long remember what we say here; but it can never forget what they did her…[Read more]

Was @addisonborn the only one to get the call from an unknown number rather than this 424 number? If the 424 number is the automated, why was he called separately in the unknown fashion?

@bruinbown It has me wondering what automated call list we were left off of.

Yea, I hear “valued”.
In the calls, did anyone pick up a hint that could look like evidence that MyChild is responsible for the calls? What if this was a “You think you’re our biggest weakness? Cool, bye. Thanks MyChild. And thank you, BOS.”?
