• @daela If the OSDM tried that trick with Sabrina and it resulted in a bunch of unusable data, why might they repeat it with another character? We met Otis as the janitor of the place where The System happened to hold its focus group. But with all the twists happening who knows if we can trust even that fact.

Holy shit, what did I just watch? Everyone has covered the main takeaways already, I think. But about that weird robot thing next to the girl — could that be the “IT” Sarah mentioned in the email Macy leaked? Whatever it is, I don’t like the look of it.

I hope @confuseddude is alive and that we hear about what happened after the periscope…[Read more]

  • I disagree with Horace completely. Empathy and emotion are critical for working with others in a mutually constructive way. If he is, by his own definition, “successful,” I would rather stay at the “bottom” where people care for one another and respect each other, than be at the “top” where there is nothing but selfishness and greed.…[Read more]

I do too! Also, to Jackie – I really admire how wholesome your posts always are. They never fail to bring a smile to my face. 🙂

@nking Man, that sounds delicious. I live in a really rural place so good cheese is difficult to come by and super expensive. On the plus side, I’ve eaten sashimi from a fish I caught the hour prior and that my friend prepared on the spot.

@nothenrygale Tokyo is probably the most English-friendly place in Japan and is definitely a great place to visit! But it can be a bit of a shock at first just how little English there is compared to the western world. Google translate will become your best friend 🙂

I’m currently living and working in Japan, but born and raised in SoCal. What are you thinking of making for dinner?

    • @izryn Japan sounds amazing! I’ve been thinking more and more of doing Tokyo as my first overseas trip when I can manage it.

It’s still morning where I am, and I haven’t eaten yet. Weather is sunny, 27 degreees C, humid. I don’t have any more classes to teach for the rest of the day, so I am a little bored at the moment.

Remember that we’re still only in Chapter 1, and it’s only May. Not every moment will be action-packed, this ain’t that kind of movie, bruv. Not everyone will be a “main character,” and that’s ok — some folks will be asked to play a supporting role to tell the larger story.

  • I’ve been getting messages from my iConfidant every 5 days or so. They’ve told me a little about themselves, but we’ve mostly been chatting about general things like language learning, hobbies, our respective jobs, etc. We haven’t shared anything too personal so far. They sound like an interesting person, and I would love to get a coffee with them…[Read more]

Enjoyed dinner and a precious few hours of karaoke with my family, who is visiting me in Japan. Thanks for the reminder to always be present. Saying good night for now, see you all in the morning!

I have a B.S. in Genetics, and I remember learning about another very interesting way you can get human chimeras without any genetic manipulation. Genetic females have 2 X chromosomes, one from mom and one from dad. One is inactivated very early on in development, and as far as we know it’s permanent. If it happens that different X chromosomes are…[Read more]

  • Good morning! What a periscope to wake up to. @thebuz, I think @mistere was making a guess, since I don’t think he recalled talking to her (the driver). Does anyone remember what the girl in Macy’s dead drop periscope looked like?

I want to let Stacey explain herself before I choose to distrust iConfidant. It doesn’t feel right to just believe…[Read more]

  • Thanks for sharing, @tyson. I wonder how they’ll respond to the meta angle.

  • A male voice, @thebuz? Did it sound like anyone you know?

  • @mistere Have a good talk tomorrow. I don’t expect Stacey will be very transparent about what’s going on with iConfidant, but you might be able to get some information out of her by voicing your guesses about what’s going on as statements of fact. Whether you’re right or not, the human instinct to correct mistakes is very powerful.

  • I went to Hong Kong for the weekend to see family, but I’m back in Japan now!

@mike, I’m so sorry to hear about what Otis is going through and that you were threatened. Whoever THEY are, they’ve purposely cut off our communication with him for a reason.

We’re not getting traditional puzzles for Lust like we did for Tension, but maybe this is its…[Read more]

Taking a short break this weekend to visit family.

  • I’ve never been a fan of The System, from everything we know about it based on Noah’s website. It claims to help people take charge of their lives, but not in a socially or morally healthy way. But I’m more concerned about the things happening higher up the chain that have more sinister motives than Noah and Sarah seem to at this point, so I’m…[Read more]
