I should point out that these sorts of usernames are not a recent thing. They’ve been popping up here and there for some time now. Just tonight they started coming in as a swarm. Their activity seems to be increasing exponentially.

I’m thinking it’s a spam bot & a troll. The random usernames all show as “Not recently active” whereas the askaroundandcatchup shows as “active 51 minutes ago” making me think that was an actual person doing it.

They almost read like they’re trying to.make out words. Like they’re all gibberish, but they’re fairly easy to pronounce once you sound it out. They look random, but maybe there is a system to it?

@thebuz @shaun I’m a very good natured person. I can see the humor in most things. I hate that there is this peppering of doubt about the legitimacy of events. While someone has to create/release the bots, some monitor, some master, some body has to be there, somewhere.
I want to believe in that, and not that someone is buckwild, aimlessly at midnight.

They’re spam bots with no human behind them. Likely just shell scripts crawling the web and creating accounts automatically, which is why they’ve never been active. Apart from the one which was, obviously.
