I read it as 3, also, but it seems to me that the OSDM is the one that needs to get its house in order.

Robert Fuller replied to the topic What were Mason's reasons? in the forum SPECULATION 7 years, 2 months ago
Are we still giving Mason the benefit of the doubt? This sounds a lot like blaming the victim. “If she was murdered, maybe she deserved it.” I’m really uncomfortable with that. It’s a slippery slope to “If she was raped, maybe she deserved it.” I’m not afraid of Mason, but I’m a little afraid of Mike now.
Also, @mike, I hope you meant child…[Read more]

@winstonsmith I think it’s both. She can’t talk about it, and she doesn’t want to. Never silent, except when they tell you to be.
I have to say, I’m dying to know what went on, but I also respect her right to privacy and silence.

I don’t believe he is the only thing going on right now… The other stuff doesn’t just… Stop.
I was wondering that myself. What are you up to, Noah?

I hope they’re happy together?
I’m thinking Briarberg is complete bullshit. Maybe Jaime is just Mason’s dating wingman.

“JC Situation,” I like that. Joyce died for our sins.

Robert Fuller replied to the topic Mason Meetup – 9/11 in the forum SIGHTINGS 7 years, 2 months ago
But why kill Joyce? It’s easy to write him off as a psychopath, but there’s method in his madness, and there has to be a motive for killing her beyond simply anger at the OSDM. What was Joyce talking about when she said there’s still time? Whatever it was, it got her killed. It makes me think Mason was pulling her strings in some way. Could she…[Read more]

I’d also love to know what Horace really said in this call.
I bet there wasn’t a call at all. In fact, this whole post is game jacking and should be deleted.

“Working on someone else.” Um, what exactly are you doing with that body, Mason?

Robert Fuller replied to the topic 9/9 – Mason Call in the forum SIGHTINGS 7 years, 2 months ago
@macbethinabathtub Of course, we don’t know what atrocities Joyce committed. Maybe they just made her make an Air Bud movie or something.
Regardless, no one deserves to be beaten with a baseball bat and held hostage. I don’t care what she may or may not have done, she deserves sympathy.

@thegilded and @russell have hit on very important points. For people insisting this isn’t theater, they’re doing it in the most theatrical way possible. Why not give us specifics of what went on in the retreats? It’s all vague allusions. They’re like the villagers at the beginning of a horror movie warning us to “stay away from that place.”
I no…[Read more]

Robert Fuller replied to the topic I don’t think the helmet’s real in the forum SPECULATION 7 years, 2 months ago
I don’t think the helmet’s real, either, because helmets that alter people’s personalities aren’t a thing. If Mason is going to insist this isn’t a game, and if they’re going to keep blurring the lines between fiction and reality, then I’m not going to pretend that something like the helmet could be real. If they want this to be “real,” then let’s…[Read more]

So I guess you remind him of his mother? As if this wasn’t creepy enough already. Now it’s getting into a weird Oedipal area.

@cass That thought also crossed my mind. I thought about bringing it up, but it felt like breaking the narrative, or something. Now that I think about it, though, I think it would be an awesome twist and would kind of make me respect Joyce.

The Lust Experience is like Willy Wonka’s factory. You can’t go back. You have to go forward to go back. I feel good about it. It’s like freedom from freedom. I’m not into bondage or anything like that, but I totally understand the mindset of people who are. Freedom lies, paradoxically, in giving control to another, and that’s what this is. Isn’t…[Read more]

If Mason is a founder of Briarberg, it’s likely he gathered like-minded individuals. For all we know, Mason’s antics could be business as usual for them.

@coryphella I got the sarcasm, which is why I felt the need to clarify. But I see what you’re saying: any comparison to Hannibal and Clarice is disturbing. Understood.

It better not be the week after Halloween. I’ll be in New York that week.

@coryphella That’s … wow. I totally understand your position. I feel like I should clarify my comment, though. I only meant that Mason thinks the world is a more interesting place with you in it, so, as Clarice said, he’d consider it “rude” to come after you. I wasn’t implying that he was hunting you, but rather the opposite. If anything, he’d…[Read more]
