Think we can tie that into the discussion in this topic! And just to offer an alternative to the AI theory.
A lot of human interpersonal reactions and interaction techniques are learned. We go through life and pick up bits and pieces from the people we interact with, sometimes consciously, sometimes unconsciously. Some of those things will help…[Read more]

@nothenrygale how do you think a blank slate might be possible when we’re talking about implanting an artificial personality into a host? Maybe what they’re looking for are host personalities that more closely line up to what artificial personalities they’re creating. Sabrina Kern was not a natural fit for Addison Barrow. Internal conflict arose.…[Read more]

interaction techniques
That explains the shadow profiles and why they sound so much like the real person. I wonder if Sarah is testing this with her email replies

The description on the song seems like it might be relevant too:
The researchers have developed FlowMachines, a system that learns music styles from a huge database of songs. Exploiting unique combinations of style transfer, optimization and interaction techniques, FlowMachines composes novel songs in many styles.

Interesting that one of the spam bots that first brought Noah to our attention is now posting songs made purely by artificial intelligence. @maddyxxx

A song composed by artificial intelligence? This is truly interesting. Seems similar to people being replaced by AI theories.

@lilmsfancpants @clairebuch that’s a bit odd coming from Sarah since she specifically asked us if we thought Noah “had a drinking problem” at the Focus Group. Are we even talking to the same person via email or is this a defensive denial? I support her and Noah both in this struggle but it’s hard when you can’t tell where she stands vs where she’d…[Read more]

Sooooooo (now I’m very much reaching but) what if that’s what the end goal of The System is? A system that can burn down these personas and expose our foundations, our true selves.
I don’t think that’s a reach at all! (at least partly because I’ve been thinking around the same thing). The man at the book release party said, “This fire des…[Read more]

Seems pretty handled, I won’t say anything else about this specific case. But a message to others, in the future. In fact, this applies to real life more than it does with Lust.
If you have important information, either tell it or don’t. If you need to verify it, don’t cocktease everyone by telling people that you have a secret but just can’t…[Read more]

Also – this is seemingly relevant to this conversation.

This is a book about someone who realizes that everyone that “knows” him only has an image of him (and everyone else) based on their own interactions with him and others, and thereby who he sees himself to be is different…[Read more]

Lust, like Tension before it, has set itself up to be the most interesting of social experiments: interesting in that we do this willingly, though it’s no more confusing than someone deciding to freefall, hang-glide, etc. We’re all adrenaline junkies at the end of the day. But of course, we know this already.

What @bruinbown said. I have been told, in less immersed moments, that the Creators get testy if information isn’t disseminated quickly after it was received. If you truly believe you had an encounter or were contacted in some way and didn’t get explicit instructions to keep it to yourself, then just by receiving it you have tacit permission to share.

What was so amazing about her? All she did was stare at us, tell us to lie to each other and take notes. She is physically beautiful and has a strong powerful demeanor like she is in charge and means business. Sure, I’ll give you that. Amazing though? She favors lying and manipulation to get what she wants (which actually speaks to my shadow self…[Read more]

It’s a super interesting trade off here – “only the active move forward” meaning only those that provide enough information for whoever is calling the shots gets to have the opportunity to provide even MORE information, to where we’re tripping over ourselves in a race to open up and get action early.
“Never Silent” seems to tie into this, too.…[Read more]

This is what I wrote to Sarah yesterday:
There’s a lot of posturing, lying and manipulation in that press release but if I ever see Noah lost wandering around or hurt. I will do my part as a fellow human being and “loser” to make sure nothing terrible happens to him. Chances are I will not see him… in fact I’ll do my best to avoid you two, but…[Read more] -

My Email to Sarah:
Hello Sarah, I know first hand how bad this disease sucks. It’s the so called disease of excess. You eat too much. Diabetes. You drink too much. Diabetes. You indulge too much. Diabetes. Shit I literally saw a man go hypo, get I his car back out of a parking space. Slam into the car behind him.…[Read more] - Load More
