Hi friends. How is everyone? Tonight is turning out to be a tough one on me. When they say moving is one of the most stressful things that can happen to someone, they are not lying! Just distract me. How’s everyone else doing tonight?
P.S. I may have done something not so kosher in the world of iConfidant…. Just waiting for a response before I let everyone know whats going on.

It has been quite a long minute since I have been here. I have no idea what is going on and I am so confused. 🙁 I am disconnected and that is not okay. PS. Oregon is great – my life here not quite there yet. Any one have connections up here that could help me find a better job? View
It’s still morning where I am, and I haven’t eaten yet. Weather is sunny, 27 degreees C, humid. I don’t have any more classes to teach for the rest of the day, so I am a little bored at the moment.
As someone going through a move as well (just loaded up my bed frame in my car to take to the new place), I totally understand. I know I’ve talked about it a lot, but really it’s weighing so heavily on my mind right now it’s tough to think of anything else until it’s done and off my plate. Ready to be done and able to rest and relax in my new home!
Free from OSDM interference of course. #OSDMSafeHouse
Ha Where are you located? Its is approaching night here and I need to make some dinner
@nothenrygale the hardest part for me is all the uncertainty. I actually have not packed anything because I have nowhere to actually live yet. I have to go experience a brand new city all by myself and find a job and a place and then can I actually do the move! I got so much longer of this stress to deal with right now… grrr
Oh man, yeah that’s tough. My move from Ohio to California was tricky because I had to try to find a place while still in Ohio! I was (very) fortunate enough to land a job out here right out of college, so the timeframe from graduation to starting the new job was very tight. Had to go off of photos on their website when apartment hunting because I didn’t know anyone in LA yet to scope it out! The stress is real, and can absolutely sympathize. It’s rough moving to a new city.
Are you moving to LA or someplace else? You said it’s a brand new city but if it’s LA I’m sure plenty of us here can help point you in some good directions.
@nothenrygale I’m actually moving out of Los Angeles to Portland Oregon. My job situation here has destroyed me and I need to hit the reset button. I already have multiple opportunities coming to me in the next week or so up there.
I’m currently living and working in Japan, but born and raised in SoCal. What are you thinking of making for dinner?
@izryn Japan sounds amazing! I’ve been thinking more and more of doing Tokyo as my first overseas trip when I can manage it.
@nothenrygale Tokyo is probably the most English-friendly place in Japan and is definitely a great place to visit! But it can be a bit of a shock at first just how little English there is compared to the western world. Google translate will become your best friend 🙂
@izryn I am doing a garlic parmesan risotto with sauteed asparagus onions and mushrooms 🙂 I cook good 😉
@nking Oh man, yeah that can be rough. At least you have some leads lined up though! Always good to have a game plan when moving. Still sucks getting that plan in place.
@nothenrygale agree. I’m just incredibly nervous right now and I have been so busy. Tonight is the first night that it has all settled in and how much my life will change.
@nking Man, that sounds delicious. I live in a really rural place so good cheese is difficult to come by and super expensive. On the plus side, I’ve eaten sashimi from a fish I caught the hour prior and that my friend prepared on the spot.
