I would personally go for the latter.
I choose being taken seriously. One can be memorable for so many unfortunate reasons, examples: Sarah Palin & The Kardashians.
Ah, but people still listen to what they have to say which gives them a certain amount of power, don’t you think?
Very true, they have their followings and this seems to please them. I would never want to be followed for such reasons though. I’d be embarrassed.
Depends on the circumstance. But a little mixture of both seems to have the best results for me.
